Hands down, some of the most popular birth announcements today are ones that have photos of a precious little newborn on the front. Photo birth announcements are probably so popular because people love to show their new baby off to the world. As parents it's fun to showcase your new son or daughter and as friends and family it's exciting to receive pictures of the new family member along with details of the child's birth.

Photo Birth Announcements- Different Layouts

The number of options for different photo layouts on announcement cards is vast. Primarily, though, there are two different types of photo birth announcements: full bleed photo cards and standard photo cards. Keep in mind these two categories also have sub categories: Flat and folded photo birth announcements.

Full bleed photo cards typically have one photo that is in the "background" of the card and is printed up against the edges of the card.

Standard photo birth announcements come in all different flavors. Most standard photo cards have just one photo on them, typically in the center of the card. However, there are also photo cards that have two, three, or even eight photos printed on them.

Below are pictures of some photo birth announcements with only one picture.

When Should I Mail my Birth Announcements?

Photo birth announcements, like other baby announcements, should be mailed out as closely to your child's birth day as possible. However, when mailing out photo cards, you'll want to wait until you've had good photos taken of your child! Therefore, mail out your cards as soon as you:

  1. Have decided which cards you'll be sending out
  2. Have good photos on hand of your new baby

If you didn't want to wait until you got good photos of your baby, you could always send out one of these types of birth announcements since they don't require pictures:

There truly are so many different baby photo announcements to choose from. Great job on pointing out all the different types of photo announcements and offering some tips on mailing them out. It can be difficult after having a baby to get organized, and I am sure your Hub will help new parents out when it comes to picking photo announcements for their little one.
